Keenly dedicated to service, Shekhar Mehta has led many major service initiatives in India. Some significant initiatives are:
 Constructing 500 homes for Tsunami survivors at Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
 Starting the Shelter Kit program in India which has served about 20 disasters distributing more than 15,000 Shelter Kits helping about 75,000 disaster victims.
 He started ‘Dil Se’ a pediatric Heart Surgery Program – through this he has got done more than 2500 heart surgeries for children from across India, Pakistan,Bangladesh, Nepal & African Countries. He also facilitated for the program to now become a National Program.
 Conceptualizing nationwide T-E-A-C-H a literacy program in India having reached out to more than 50,000 Schools and 15 million children. T-E-A-C-H is a holistic program on literacy. Rotary is working on the T-E-A-C-H Program with the Central Government and many State Governments.
 He has helped take the E-Learning Program to millions of children through the television channels of Government of India. He is the architect of the Rotary Total Literacy Program of India.
 He has been Instrumental in setting up 15 Eye Hospitals across India serving nearly 50,000 eye operations each year.
 He started a scholarship program called UDAAN for marginalized children over last 10 years. 1000 scholarships have been given.
 Responding to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national call – He has helped set up 6000 rural toilets benefitting 30,000 people.
 Shekhar Mehta is spearheading a National Program under Rotary India Humanity Foundation, to do India-wide projects in collaboration with the Government of India, in the areas of Water, Sanitation, Literacy, Healthcare, Environment and Disaster Management. The result of these programs he professors will be “Rotary’s Role in Nation Building in India”.
 The Prime Minister of India and various cabinet Ministers have applauded these mega initiatives of Rotary in India.
Shekhar Mehta is a motivational speaker. He has spoken at hundreds of events nationally and internationally. His motivation skills are par excellence which has helped raise millions of dollars for The Rotary Foundation.

As a result of his activeness in the social sector and deep interest in community service, he joined Rotary Club Jabalpur South and after serving on important posts of the club, he took over the responsibility of the post of President in the session 2019-20. In view of his organizational ability, the responsibilities of District Assignment, City Coordinator, District Chief Facilitator M.P., City Coordinator Jabalpur, R.I. Convention Promotion Co-Chair M.P., District Vocational Training Team Sub Committee Chair, Member District Finance Committee, Member District Grant Sub Committee, along with his nomination as the most important and dignified post of the District, District Secretary General, are indicative of his working ability, sharp intellect, dedication and activism. He was elected as the National Secretary for the Executive Council of Rotary News Trust Chennai for the year 2024-25. In the 32-year journey of the club, his presidential tenure was full of achievements, which included the 85 service projects done in the session, mainly Jabalpur’s first Global Grant Project (40970 US$), Desk-Bench Campaign, 2-2 batches of RLI, service work of Rs 15,88,646/- during the Covid lock-down as a support to the district administration and contacting more than one lakh people over the phone by running the “Ek Phone Manavta Ke Liye” campaign and advising them to stay at home during the lock-down and solving their problems.

In view of his unprecedented services, the Madhya Pradesh government honored you as a Corona Warrior through the Collector Jabalpur. He was given the prestigious award of RI Presidential Citation by Rotary International President Mr. Mark Maloney. 3 Rotaract clubs of the club also received the title of RI Presidential Citation with Gold Distinction. As a result of the active activities of the club, then Governor gave the Certificate of Appreciation. Strengthening the Rotary Foundation, he became a major donor in the session 2021-22.

He have had the honour of receiving the Guinness Book of World Records certificate by doing bungee jumping from the highest height in Hong Kong Macau. He had been honoured with the President’s Award in Scout Guide, Samaj Ratna Award by MP Pragatisheel Brahmin Mahasabha, Kalashree Award by Gunjan Kala Sadan MP and Omkar Alankaran by Pt. Omkar Prasad Tiwari Smriti Organizing Committee.

Santosh Shrivastava, Civil Engineer with over 33 years of distinguished service at MPSEB/MP Power Generating Co., has been an active member of the Engineers Association, contributing significantly to numerous benevolent schemes.
